Summer may be coming to a close, but the Host Analytics engineering team has been busy building on the exciting innovations and features we delivered with the Spring16 release of our Enterprise Performance Platform in May.
Last week, we delivered our Summer16 feature release. This release includes enhancements in several areas, including user experience, user productivity, and reporting.
Improved User Experience
In the Spring16 release, we introduced a modern and dynamic user interface that includes custom branding options, streamlined navigation features, and a more integrated platform experience. With the Summer16 release, support for “Themes” is also now available. Customers can choose from one of seven color themes that best identifies with their company brand, enabling more customization of the overall look and feel.
Enhanced User Productivity
The Summer16 release includes a number of enhancements designed to improve user productivity across all modules.
In the Planning module, enhancements include cross-browser support for the Capital Planning Template, as well as new features, such as cell-level formatting, time set support, and integration with unified account mapping screens for finance. Global Fields also include cross-browser support and have a completely new and more intuitive user experience. Workday Setup also has a new user experience. Cross-browser support for Block Template input is available in beta, with general availability planned for the Fall16 release. These enhancements provide improved usability and increase productivity.
The Cloud Scheduler has been enhanced and now enables configuration for any start time, ability to select and apply time zones, and automatic adjustments for daylight savings time. These enhancements provide more flexibility and accuracy.
In the Consolidation module, enhancements include Dynamic and Partial Ownership journals enablement for non-Actual scenarios. This provides an additional option for users to record auditable adjustments for Budget, Forecast and other scenarios – in addition to Actuals.
This release also includes cross-browser support for manually created Attribute Hierarchies. With this feature, users can create, map, and preview Attribute Hierarchies from any browser, which improves usability and productivity.
The Summer16 release includes a number of enhancements to the Modeling module, including support for attributes for analysis and reporting, a folder structure for calculation processes, descriptions for calculation processes, and user-level permissions for calculation processes.
More Powerful Reporting and Analytics
The new Workforce Reporting feature announced with the Spring16 release is now generally available. This enables formatted reporting and ad hoc analysis of Workforce Planning data, and enforces security on data and report access. It is fully integrated with Report Sets, Dynamic Reports, Report Collections, and Financial Package Publisher. This was one of the most requested enhancements by customers and provides visibility into headcount, compensation, benefits, open requisitions, and other employee details.
Other reporting enhancements include a new user interface for Attribute Settings and Verify Data, along with cross-browser support.
As I mentioned, the Summer16 release builds on the innovations and new features we delivered in the Spring16 release, enhancing the user experience and providing improved user productivity, as well as more powerful reporting and analysis capabilities.
