Modern Finance Part 3:  The State of FP&A

As the emergence of digital continues to flood the marketplace with new business data, organizations are evaluating the endless array of tools to help manage, understand, and leverage this data to drive more measurable results.

Within the finance world, this has translated into an increased focus on financial planning and analysis, and the potential benefits to be gained from investments into these capabilities.

Argyle Executive Forum, in partnership with Host Analytics, surveyed leading finance executives across the U.S. on their organizations’ investments into FP&A, the goal of restructuring efforts, the observed gains versus expectations thus far, and the organization’s overall sentiments towards their respective operational model.

Despite widely reported skepticism towards FP&A within the finance community, a few key trends emerged: investments into FP&A have indeed increased in recent years, and the measured gains are mostly meeting expectations.
