Nucleus Research Names Host Analytics a Leader in CPM


What are the most important factors to consider when evaluating corporate performance management (CPM) solutions?  Which vendors are delivering the most value to customers in these areas?

According to Nucleus Research, the answer to the first question is usability and functionality.  And in its 2017 CPM Value Matrix report, Host Analytics was named as a leader in the CPM market (a.k.a. EPM market) for the third straight year. 

Key Market Requirements

The Nucleus Research report highlights usability as a key factor for CPM products, including having Excel-like features, as Finance users want autonomy from IT and are reticent to learn a drastically new system.  Nucleus Research also commented on the importance of the Software as a Service (SaaS) deployment model because this requires little work from IT to deploy and maintain the solution.  

And citing a prior report it published on CPM 2.0, Nucleus Research cited three critical factors in differentiating CPM solutions: embedded analytics, enterprise resource planning (ERP) integration, and flexible deployment options.

Host Analytics Recognized as a Leader

Based on vendor and customer interviews, Host Analytics was positioned as a leader in the market with the highest-ranked functionality among the pure-play CPM vendors in the Leader’s quadrant.  Host Analytics was also ranked high among the leaders on usability. 

In the report, Nucleus Research also highlighted the strength of the Spring17 release of Host Analytics. Several enhancements in the Spring17 release were mentioned as differentiators, including these:
